Marlow’s Tavern in Midtown is a consistently satisfying neighborhood spot that does exactly what a modern tavern should—serves elevated comfort food in a welcoming, stylish setting. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between upscale and relaxed, with cozy booths, communal tables, and a patio that’s great for sunny afternoons. The food definitely delivers. Favorites like shrimp and grits—built on deep-fried white cheddar grit cakes—and Parmesan truffle fries stand out as inventive yet approachable tavern classics. Service, even when busy, was quick and efficient—everything came on time, and the food tasted crisp and fresh. I’ve found the bar area particularly fun too; the bartenders are “great,” and it feels just right for a casual lunch, game day, or a relaxed evening out. Every visit feels reliably good—welcoming, flavorful, and lively without trying too hard. If you’re looking for solid tavern food with a neighborhood atmosphere in Midtown, Marlow’s Tavern is a smart go-to. Would you like a shorter version or help highlighting a specific menu item?

An amazing last meal in Atlanta thanks to Josh and the staff. Was in town for three days had great food but the service here really capped off our trip since they found out it was our first time complementary homemade cheese nachos. Josh thoroughly went over the menu and based on his recommendations we have the brisket sandwich, the French dip, Caesar salad, and the asparagus fries. All of the food was great. We will definitely be back and when we go again, ask for Josh.

It was our first visit to this establishment and we were very pleased. The food was delicious and the service was perfect. The only possible drawback is the lighting is very low which might be an issue for some but for me it wasnt an issue. Delicious food and great service, definitely recommend!

I’ve gone to several Marlow’s locations. Food is always good, something for everyone. From burgers to fish tacos to chicken sandwiches. Handcut fries are delish! Service can be a bit slower than your average sit down but ambience is nice so I don’t usually mind. Portion sizes are good!

Wandered in at random but was pleasantly surprised! The tavern vibe was great but the food was significantly elevated. We had the crab dip for an appetizer- bravo on the buttered saltine crackers! Entrees were the Brisket Grilled Cheese (with onion rings) and the Shrimp and Crab Louie - each delicious. The only demerit was given because the center of the crab dip was cold. This places deserves a revisit to try more dishes.

I was pleasantly surprised during my visit when the General Manager personally approached our table. At first, I thought he was simply another experienced server because of how naturally and confidently he carried himself. It wasn’t until I noticed his uniform, which proudly displayed his title, that I realized he was the GM. What impressed me most was that instead of staying tucked away in an office, he was out on the floor serving dishes, greeting guests, and leading by example. It was still fairly early in the evening and the restaurant appeared fully staffed, so it truly stood out to see a manager of his level so hands on. That simple gesture left me both baffled and impressed. It showed a dedication to hospitality and set the tone for the kind of service this restaurant strives for.
